This 1-day training course is intended for those who want to understand the essence of their new role so that they can carry out their activities effectively and more efficiently. You will learn a bird’s-eye view of what data management is and how to execute it effectively. You will also discover what to expect from your colleagues and how best to collaborate with them to achieve effective data management. This allows you, even in collaboration with others, to make an optimal contribution to discoverable, meaningful, and high-quality data, making your organisation more reliable, customer- or service-oriented, and future-proof.
Content
The training covers the most important aspects of data management, such as the role of metadata and improving data quality. Regarding data sharing, we also briefly touch upon technology, legislation and regulations, and risk management. Other aspects of data governance are also addressed, such as the potential structure of the data organisation. An important part of the training is the role of the data owner in relation to colleagues, such as stewards, product and system owners, data users, data owners, management, and sometimes the Chief Data Officer. The training teaches you how to gain commitment from stakeholders, whom you sometimes need to persuade to do things for you in order to perform your role effectively. We also discuss change management and your role within it.
